Dr Shaha has worked in Psychiatry for the past 25 years; 11 years as an NHS Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at SWYPFT NHS trust, Wakefield and since 2018 at Psychiatry UK.

She is passionate about working systemically with children and young people, involving parents, carers, extended family, schools and even friends, where appropriate, in treatment.  She enjoys working with children presenting with any mental health difficulties especially anxiety, depression, emotionally based school avoidance, OCD, ASD and ADHD.

She has further training in family therapy from the University of Leeds at both foundation and intermediate level, achieving a distinction for the latter.

More recently Dr Shaha has developed an interest in publishing and has published several online CPD modules on managing anxiety, depression and self harm in children for the Royal College of Paediatricians. She has contributed two chapters to a book aimed at GPs entitled ABC of Autism published in 2018, and another 2 chapters to ABC of Neurodevelopmental Disorders, which is due for publication in 2024.
