Dr Lee is a Consultant Psychiatrist in Medical Psychotherapy and General Adult Psychiatry. This means he can understand patients both as a psychotherapist and a psychiatrist. He is a specialist in Personality Disorder (PD) and has been clinical lead in a specialist PD unit in the NHS for over 10 years. Individuals who have aspects of their personality which may lead to difficulties in relationships, work or study, and how they use their leisure time may benefit from a consultation with Dr Lee. Given the complexity of these issues consultations usually occur over 2 appointments, each of one hour duration.

Dr Lee combines his clinical interest in PD with research and training in the area. He is co-director of the Centre for Study of Personality Disorder. Dr Lee has over 30 peer reviewed papers. He has recently published ‘Stormy Lives’ in 2016, a book aimed at the general public which explains Personality Disorder. He has taught on PD internationally, most recently in Florence and Chengdu.

Dr Lee trained in psychiatry at the Maudsley Hospital. He has additional trainings in evidence based treatments for Personality Disorder, including Mentalization Based Treatment and Transference Focused Psychotherapy, in which he is accredited by the International Society of Transference Focused Psychotherapy.
